About Me

Hi, my name is Anne Stevenson and I am a fully qualified Person Centred Counsellor and a member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am a partner with At Your Side Therapy where I can offer one to one counselling in a professional, welcoming and warm environment. My working hours are flexible and I can see you in our Livingston office between the hours of 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday with some available weekend hours.

My working background was primarily in advice giving and management roles within local authority. This gave me the desire to develop my skills and experience to further enhance my ability to understand and empathise with many individual circumstances. I commenced my journey to become a counsellor by attending college to complete COSCAs 1-4 (certificates in counselling) before attending Stirling University to complete my Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. During my training I worked with various placements dealing with anger management and children and young people services through Social Work. Once qualified, I joined At Your Side Therapy as a partner in private practice. Private practice therapy has allowed me to be diverse in the areas of counselling and I now have extensive experience in areas such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, abuse, bullying, relationship issues, lack of self-confidence/self-esteem, work related issues and many more life events that are affecting people's lives.

I also provide EAP (employee assistance programmes) to organisations providing counselling and occupational health services for corporate companies. I can offer short term as well as long term counselling depending on a person’s requirements. There is no limit to the number of sessions; you can have as few or as many as you wish. I will be guided by your needs and requirements.

My qualifications are as follows:
